To troubleshoot issues that occur with Device.input tests, follow these steps:

Review Troubleshooting Windows HCK Test Failures.

Review one of the following topics, depending on the type of input device that you are testing:
  •         Fingerprint Reader Testing Prerequisites

  •         Game Controller Testing Prerequisites

  •         Keyboard Testing Prerequisites

  •         Mouse or other Pointing Device Testing Prerequisites

  •         Sensor Device Testing Prerequisites

  •         Smart Card Reader Testing Prerequisites

Review the Windows HCK release notes for current test issues.

For a test failure, look for usable information in the Windows HCK Studio test log. If you find usable information, resolve the issue and rerun the test.

Specific information about keyboard tests

The Device.Input test category does not include specific keyboard tests. However, there are tests in the Device.Fundamentals category that apply to keyboards. For more information, see Device.Fundamentals Testing.
Specific information about mouse or other pointing device tests

The Device.Input test category does not include specific mouse tests. However, the Device.Fundamentals category includes tests that apply to mice. For more information, see Device.Fundamentals Testing.
Specific information about sensor device tests

Currently, known sensor test issues are grouped into the following categories:
  1.   Test initialization failures
  2.   Operating system issues
  3.   Permissions issues
  4. Test initialization failures

When the sensor tests start on a test computer, they perform several tests to verify that the environment can be used for testing. If you receive errors that have a TUID of A012D6BB-36BB-4088-AF3F-1BE3C5607928, verify the following:

The test computer must be running Windows® 8 or Windows 7.

The test computer must currently have your test sensor device installed and the device must be operational.

The test sensor device must appear as a sensor device in the Location and Other Sensors Control Panel.

Operating system issues

The sensor tests are only valid on Windows 8 and Windows 7. The tests are not supported on any other version of Windows.

Permissions issues

The user who is logged into the client computer must have permissions to access the sensor device for some of the sensor logo tests. To check permissions, follow these steps:

Open the Location and Other Sensors Control Panel.

Grant all users access to the sensor device that is being tested. To do this, follow these steps:

In the Location and Other Sensors Control Panel, select the check box next to the sensor device that is being tested.
        Click Apply.

What are computer output devices?
Computer output devices are used to provide information for a user in different forms. The formats include visual, audio and digital. A CPU is responsible for processing the instructions and the devices are responsible in outputting the processed information in different formats depending on the type of output device we have.

When we talk about output devices, some of the devices in this group can do both the input and the output process. These kinds of devices enable us to provide information to it and receive information from it. Touch screen is an example of input/output device.

For example, Mobiles and touch monitors incorporate this technology. Here are the most common computer output devices.

Monitor

Computer monitor or screen is a device used to display information to a user. Whether you are playing a game or watching movies or doing other tasks, the result is shown on screen.

Two kinds of monitors available: CRT and LCD. Read more about monitors…

Speaker

Computer speaker is the other output device which is used to hear a sound played by a computer. Speakers can be built in with the motherboard or comes as a separate part. It connects with the computer speaker with a cable.

Unlike the old speaker’s types, modern speakers come with USB connection which does both functions – connection and power supply. The built in speakers can be heard through a headphone, if you don’t want to buy the independent speaker set.

Headphone is also an output device used to hear music from digital portable players, such as MP3 players, IPods and stuff like that. It is designed to fit into an ear. It is also used mostly to play computer games and chat online.

Printer

Printer enables us to get computer output on paper. It is one of the most popular computer output devices we often use to get information on paper - called hard copy.

Generally, there are two types of printers: laser and inkjet/desk jet. Wide varieties of printers are available under these groups which incorporate different capabilities, features and price.

Usually, laser printers are monochrome (black and white), but color laser printers are also available. It is faster than the inkjet printers and very expensive, particularly if it has both monochrome and color printing features. When you want to buy a printer, your choice must start from laser types.

Though laser printer is expensive at first purchase, but in the long run it handles large volumes of printing with low operating cost.

On the other hand, ink jet printer requires minimal initial investment but has high operating cost. Ink jet printer is a requirement if you are into graphics and desktop publishing business.

HP, the leader in printer industry, recently announced a new printer which outranks the existing ones. The new HP Laser Jet printer 1100 works by Plug and Play, it doesn’t need driver CD. It also saves 72% of electric consumption by automatically turning itself on and off.

Conclusion

Computer output devices are a must in order to get information from a computer in a desired format. I hope this article unveiled some important facts about output devices.

Computer monitor

Want to buy computer monitor, but do not know which type, size so forth? That is a good question to ask before putting your money on this expensive part of a computer.

Go ahead and read this article and know the features of a good monitor.

What is computer monitor?

Computer screen is one of the most important parts of your pc which displays the output from the computer. Text and graphics video modes are the most basic ones displayed by a monitor.

A user communicates with the computer through a monitor, otherwise it will be difficult to know what is going on inside the computer.

How it works?

The screen works with the VGA (Video Graphics Array). Video graphics card plays key role by communicating the board with the screen. It is an interface between your computer and the display. Normally, modern computer motherboard incorporates built in video card. Other than the onboard card, we can add additional video card which can be plugged on PCI slots of the main board.

The video card is responsible for receiving instructions from CPU. It then translates the information in a way the screen understands and displays it to you. While doing this, the video adapter uses its own processor (graphic accelerator) and memory to accomplish the task.

A modern graphics adapter integrates both its own graphic accelerator and memory. This integration makes the CPU to liberate from processing graphical instructions and focus on other computing tasks. Also the main memory will be free from storing display information.

The card will get the information from CPU, it will then process using its own processor and memory to display the desired result on the screen. This technology will greatly increase your computer performance. Moreover, you can easily load and see graphical data on the screen.

For example, my Dell computer has a graphic card with its own processor and 214MB memory. The more graphic card memory space you have, the faster the graphical data loads on your screen.

So, when you buy computer monitor keep in mind whether the graphics adapter has these capabilities.

Types of monitors

CRT (Cathode-ray tube) and LCD (liquid crystal display) monitors are the two types used widely. Now a day, however, LCD monitors are replacing CRTs and becoming the most favorite type people want to have.

LCD monitors are more preferable than CRT in terms of size, quality, health safety and power consumption.

computer monitor comes in different sizes starting from 12” to 30”

Conclusion

Currently, there are ranges of monitors available on the market which differs in price and quality. However, your choice should be the one that fits your current need. All you have to do is to remember the most important factors and apply those features to purchase the best computer monitor.
